Technically a dessert, but we're claiming it. A scoop of vanilla gelato "drowned" in a shot of hot espresso (the Italian word literally means "drowned"). Cold, sweet cream meets hot, bitter coffee. Best eaten with a spoon and sipped from the cup.

How to make it

Place a scoop of quality vanilla gelato (not ice cream — gelato's denser) in a small cup or glass.

Pull a fresh double shot of espresso.
