Frappé
Thessaloniki, Greece — 1957 (Dimitris Vakondios at a Nestlé trade fair)
Invented by accident when a Nestlé employee couldn't find hot water and shook instant coffee with cold water and ice. Greece's national coffee drink is made from instant coffee, water, sugar, and milk — shaken until it forms a thick foam. It's not a blended Frappuccino; it's lighter, foamier, and meant to be sipped slowly in the sun.
